Slow Down and Move Over. It’s the Law!

Saturday, October 17th is National Slow Down and Move Over Day, which falls on the 3rd Saturday of each October. This day is used to highlight the ever-increasing need for motorists to slow down and move over anytime they see any flashing lights or people on the roadway.

No Caption Assist to East Brandywine on Working House Fire with Entrapment

Thorndale Fire Company, October 06

On Tuesday evening just after 9pm Station 38 along with numerous mutual aid companies were dispatched to assist Station 49 (East Brandywine) on a house fire with entrapment in the 1100 block of Horseshoe Pike. As chief officers from Station 49 responded, Chester County 911 Dispatch advised that they were receiving multiple calls of a working fire and at least one resident trapped.

Working Fire Assist to West Bradford

Thorndale Fire Company, October 03

On Saturday 10/3/2020 just after 1600hours, Station 38 and several area mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 1500blk of Hillcrest Dr in West Bradford for a house fire. Chief 39 arrived on-scene first to find a single-family dwelling with smoke showing from the roof area. Neighbors reported that they didn’t believe anyone was home and that there were three dogs still in the house.

Thorndale Fire Company, October 02

On Friday October 2nd around 14:15 hours Station 38, Engine 43-2 (Coatesville FD), Engine 76 (VA FD), 41 Ambulance (Washington Hose EMS) and Medic 93 (Brandywine Hospital) were dispatched to the area of N Caln Rd and Ridgeview Circle for an Auto Accident with Entrapment. CCDES Director Murphy who lives in the area was first on the scene and confirmed entrapment in a single vehicle.

Search Detail for Possible Paraglidier in Distress

Thorndale Fire Company, September 21

On Monday night 9/21/2020 at 7:43pm Station 38 with multiple Fire, Police and EMS units from the area were dispatched in the area of Brandywine Hostpital Grounds for a possible paraglider who came down in the wooded area. The initial report given to first responding units was that a paraglider that appeared to be coming in for a landing was too low and almost struck the chimney of the Huston Building ...
