No Caption Engine 38 assists Downingtown with a Building Fire

Thorndale Fire Company , November 19

At 4:33am on Sunday November 19th, Station 38 was dispatched to assist stations 45 & 46 with a building fire. Engine 38 arrived as the 2nd due engine and crews assisted with primary fire attack and over haul.

Thorndale’s crew remained on scene to assist with overhaul and fire investigation until being released by command shortly after 8:00am.

Air Bag Training

Fire Fighter Kimberly Mattson, November 17

On November 15, 2023, for training night, firefighters reviewed and used the air bag systems, that are located on Rescue 38.

The air bag system is used in various types of rescue situations. Good training and communication is vital when doing these types of rescues.

Fire Fighter Kimberly Mattson, November 11

On November 10, 2023 Fire Chief Pat Taylor, CFF Ryan Lewis, and Fire/Life Safety Educator Kim Mattson, visited the Child Development Center.

360 students were given fire safety education and learned about Engine 38, Rescue 38, and the equipment that is used from each vehicle.

Fire Prevention Lil Rosebuds

Fire Fighter Kimberly Mattson, November 08

CFF Anthony Trento and Fire and Life Safety Educator Kim Mattson visited the Lil Rosebuds School, on 17th Ave. November 6, 2023.
The students were given a Fire Safety presentation, and were able to get on the Fire Engine.

Prior to our visit, the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company had already responded to 3 calls that morning.

No Caption Sound the Alarm Red Cross Smoke Detector Installations

The Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company had a busy day on November 4, 2023.
5 Volunteers joined with the Red Cross to install smoke detectors in the Brandywine Homes and Barley Sheaf Farms developments of Caln Township. 58 homes had smoke detectors installed, 107 smoke detectors total installed, and 121 residents had received fire safety education.
