No Caption Bypass crash creates traffic delays

An early morning vehicle accident created traffic delays this morning on the EB RT 30 BP, just East of the Manor Avenue interchange . While Thorndale firefighters checked for injuries, Coatesville VA firefighters assured the vehicle was stabilized while the driver was being evaluated.

Happy Birthday Celebration for Chase Miller's 4th Birthday

Fire Fighter Kimberly Mattson, June 01

Captain 38 Eric Stewart, Firefighters Bill Stewart, Lia Raezer, Hunter Sarmento and Kim Mattson attended a birthday celebration in honor of Chase Miller, who turned 4 years old.
The kids in attendance were given a tour of Engine 38, were able to operate some tools, and during this hot day, sprayed the fire hose.

No Caption Home Schoolers Visit the Station

Fire Fighter Kimberly Mattson, May 21

May 17, 2024, the Thorndale Fire Company had a visit from a group of home schooled students, who brought their siblings, and Moms.

The students toured Engine 38 and Rescue 38. CFF Ryan Lewis and Fire Prevention Officer Kim Mattson provided Fire safety education to all of the visitors. The students were able to tour the rest of the fire station before departing.

Large Compost Pile Fire

Thorndale Fire Company, May 09

At 5:20 hours Station 38 was alerted to the area of Kings Hwy and Bondsville Road for an unknown fire. Chief 38 responded and was advised that flames could be seen in the woods to the south of the location but was unsure what was on fire. Chief 38 arrived on location and upon further investigation, the incident was found to be a large compost pile fire. Deputy 38 established command as Engine 38 arrived ... (Full Story & Photos)

Station 38 was initially dispatched for a smoke investigation outside, report of black smoke coming from unknown source on back patio. CCDES upgraded to a building fire response with reports of fire in Apartment 119, but it was unknown what was on fire.
