Thorndale Fire Company and Caln Township Career Firefighter LaBonte and Holmes visited KinderCare Learning Center, Thorndale, for a Touch- A-Truck event during their annual Summer Camp Program. Approximately 60 kids had the opportunity to speak to the firefighters, learn about the equipment and walk through the fire truck.

Auto Accident With Tree Down Closes Eastbound Route 30 Bypass

On Saturday night June 7th at approximately 10:30 PM the Thorndale Fire Company and MICU 146-2 were dispatched to mile marker 276.1 of the Eastbound route 30 bypass for an automobile accident with unknown injuries. Today, as part of Caln Township’s probationary career firefighter orientation program, Thorndale Fire Co., Caln Township Career Firefighters, Coatesville VA and City Fire Departments participated in training at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center.

A big thank you to East Whiteland Township Fire Department and Chief Greg Lewis for providing an Engine standby during the training.

Public Service - Duckling Rescue

Assistant Chief Raymond Stackhouse, May 28

On May 28 at 07:25 Chester County Emergency Service notified Thorndale Fire Company and Caln Township about residents reporting 5 baby ducks stuck in a storm drain in the Barley Sheaf Farms section of the Township.

Assistant 38, Rescue 38, and Caln PD responded to the scene and found mom standing guard over a storm drain with her 5 ducklings at the bottom.

Thorndale Fire Company, May 14

On May 14th, Station 38 held a live burn training session along with mutual aid partners from Coatesville VA FD and the Downingtown Fire Department. The night focused on apparatus arrival assignments for structure fire responses. Several evolutions were conducted and a great night of training was completed by all.
