Working House Fire in Caln
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Thorndale Fire Company
March 21, 2022

On Monday March 21st around 3:30 hours Thorndale Fire Company along with mutual aid partners were dispatched to a house fire in the 1700blk of Fisherville Rd. Initial reports were that the caller could see flames from an attached garage of the house and believed no one was home.

Caln PD arrived and reported fire showing from the residence. With that report Chief 38 requested the working fire dispatch as well as the 1st alarm tanker task force due to no hydrants in the area. Battalion 49 arrived on location and reported a 1 1/2 story single family dwelling with fire in the basement, garage and first floor. Chief 38 arrived moments after and assumed Fisherville Rd Command.

Engine 76 arrived followed by Engine 49-5 and both crews stretched handlines to the front door. Crews were met with heavy fire conditions in the residence. Crews made a push to contain the fire while a primary search of the residence was completed. As additional crews showed up two additional handlines were stretched by Engine 38 and Ladder 41's crews.

Rescue 38 laid 1000’ of 5 inch from Caln Meetinghouse and Fisherville for tankers to supply the scene. A second and third alarm were requested for manpower. The fire was placed under control at 4:42a.m with extensive overhaul. Caln Township Public Works Department was requested for a backhoe to assist with the overhaul operations.

Thank you to all the mutual aid partners that assisted. Thank you to Goshen Fire Company for standing by at our station while we operated for several house. Photos are courtesy of IrishEyez Photography
