Station 38 was kept busy on Monday night into Tuesday, assisting Coatesville Fire Department with two working fires. At 20:25 hours Engine 38, with surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched to assist Coatesville Fire Department in the 300 Block of Lincoln Hwy for a building fire. Ladder 41 (Coatesville FD) arrived to find a 6 story apartment building with nothing evident from the exterior. As crews made their way into the building, they found a working fire on the 5th floor. Crews from Ladder 41 and Engine 43 advanced 1 ¾ handline and quickly brought the fire under control. Engine 38 with a crew of 6 was assigned to side Charlie to assist with positive ventilation of the rear stairwell and each floor. Crews operated for a little over an hour before being released by Command.
At 2:38 hours Engine 38 was again called upon with mutual aid to assist Coatesville FD with a working fire in the 300 block of Community Lane. Ladder 41 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from second floor of a 2 story single family dwelling. Coatesville FD crews advanced a handline to the rear of the structure where they were met with an active basement fire. Once again quick work by crews had the fire under control within minutes Engine 38 arrived and staged with additional manpower that had responded. Command began to release units after operating on scene for just about an hour.
