By Thorndale Fire Company
May 6, 2026

Just after 5am Station 38 was dispatched along with the first alarm building assignment to the Brandywine Homes section of Caln Township for a possible house fire. Initial reports indicated the roof was on fire and home was connected to other homes. Chief 38 (P. Taylor) and Engine 38 arrived on the scene of two story attached single family dwelling with smoke showing from the roof line and partial roof beneath the second floor windows. The working fire dispatch was requested for the County Fire Marshal's and PECO only.

Engine 38 as the first due engine, secured a water supply from the hydrant adjacent to the incident address and stretched a 1 3/4" attack line to the alpha/bravo corner. Ladder 41 arrived and laddered the roof to begin operations on opening the structures siding and roof line area. The additional crew from Ladder 41 operating on Division 2 reported fire in the walls of the Alpha/Bravo corner and requested a second attack line be deployed.

Engine 37 arrived as the third due engine reported to the Charlie side of the structure and stood by. The crew from Engine 39-1 was directed to establish an iRIT team until the RIT Team (Resue 47) arrived on the scene. The fire was quickly brough under control. The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office arrived on the scene began their investigation once the fire was out. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this incident.
