Station 38 and the first alarm assignment were dispatched to Bluff Road for a possible structure fire. Caln Police arrived on the scene and reported smoke coming from the building with the residence evacuated. Lieutenant 49 arrived and reported fire showing from sides Alpha and Charlie. Chief 38 (P.Taylor) arrived and established Bluff Road command requesting the working fire dispatch and an Ops Channel.

Engine 38 arrived as the first due engine and laid a 5" supply line from the hydrant located at the Western end of Bluff Road to the fire scene to secure their water supply for suppression. Ladder 41 arrived and positioned in front of the fire building to ladder the roof in the event ventilation or escalation occurred. Crews pulled two 1 3/4" attack lines from Engine 38 and proceeded to the front door of the structure. Primary and Secondary search was conducted by the crew from Ladder 41 and Engine 49-2.

Additional arriving crews were dent to check the Bravo and Delta side exposures for any possible extension. There was no fire extension but some smoke in both buildings. Crews from the first arriving units continued to extinguish the fire on Division 1. There was no fire spread to Division 2. Positive pressure ventilation was implemented to clear the smoke from the building. The fire was offically placed under control shortly after 02:15 hours.

Crews remained on scene for several hours for overhaul and assisting Chester County Fire Marshal's Office with their investigation. Photos courtesy of IrishEyez
