October 16, 2024

Our vehicle rescue training series has continued into the night of Wednesday October 16th. This evening, Station 38 crews were joined by the on-duty staff at Engine 76 for a night of mutual aid training. The crews were given a scenario of a two-vehicle accident involving one vehicle into a ravine with a passenger trapped. The crews utilized various equipment on Rescue 38 to safely stabilize the vehicles before any extrication took place.

Crews discussed very briefly techniques each area used to stabilize the vehicles and review the limitations they found. Crews were then sent to use their training to extricate/disentangle vehicle components. This was a great night to work together with our mutual aid as we often do on emergencies. Thank you to Flings Towing for supplying their yard and vehicles to assist with the training.
