The Thorndale Fire Company held its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday October 12. We had a beautiful weather day with many activities for all. Families were able to come and see the firehouse and participate in hands on activities including a crawl thru smoke area, hose spraying and use of an extinguisher to put out an oven fire. Our fire gear was on display for all to try on. Families were able compile escape plans for their homes and encouraged to practice when they returned home. We always try to include a live demonstration during our event. This year, participants got to see just how quick fire can evolve with today's building materials and furnishings. Thank you to Belfor USA for the donation of the materials to build the prop!
