By Thorndale Fire Company
January 4, 2024

Around 10:30 hours Station 38 was dispatched to assist the Downingtown Fire Department with a house fire with possible entrapment in the 100 block of Bradford Ave. Chief Law from Station 45 arrived on the scene and reported smoke showing from the "Alpha" side of the building. Chief Law established Command advising there was a hydrant in the front of the residence for the first due Engine. Tower 45 laddered the building on the "Alpha" side setting up for ventilation. Engine 46-1 arrived as the first due engine and deployed 1 3/4" attack line through the front door to begin fire attack on division one.

Engine 38 arrived immediately behind Engine 46-1 as the second due engine and assisted with fire primary fire attack on division one and two as well as conducting primary searches for the potential trapped victim. Luckily it was determined the resident was not actually home at the time of the fire. With the bulk of the fire knocked down, crews began salvage and overhaul looking for any further extension in the walls and adjoining rooms and structures. Thorndale’s crew remained on scene to assist with overhaul until being released by command.
