On Saturday September 14th your Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company was on display for your viewing pleasure from 10:00-2:00 at Caln Community Day 2013. It was a great day to spend outside with friends and family and there was something for everyone, young and old.

New this year was the showcasing of a NASCAR race car that was brought in by Flings Towing, a fireman's challenge and a dunk tank that was sponsored by the Thorndale Dental Associates. All proceeds from the dunk tank were then donated to the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company with MANY thanks! Our participants in the dunk tank that day were Dr. Deforno from the Thorndale Dental Associates, who was dressed as the tooth fairy I might add, followed by Caln Township Commissioner President Vince Rose, then our very own Fire Chief John Cordisco. After the trio was complete, another Caln Township Commissioner came into the tank; Vice President Charles Kramer and the day was ended with Firefighter Sean Barron. Thank to all of you who helped to raise money for the fire company and a special thanks because the temperature never reached above 63 degrees that day with 15 mph winds!

As to be expected, the day offered ongoing activities and games from the Girls Scouts of Eastern PA Caln Cluster to a Rolling Game Station that is a pull behind trailer filled with all types of video games. Awesome live music, pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting were enjoyed by all. The Caln Historical Society had a couple tents in place with items and paraphernalia on display that showcased the origins of our First Class Township and thanks to the Chester County Car Club for the very nice automobiles they brought with them.

Join us next Saturday, September 22nd at our station located behind Caln Elementary School, as we host our 2nd Annual Thorndale Fire Company "Cruiz In" car show! Last year we had over 70 cars in attendance and this year seems to be no different! The show is held with the help of the Chester County Antique Car Club and many varieties of automobiles will be showcased.
