On Tuesday June 17, 2013, Firefighter Sean Barron received word from the Office of the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner that he had successfully passed certification for Fire Fighter 1. This certification is accredited by the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications and International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and is recognized as the national certification for firefighters across the United States. Firefighter Barron was able to test for this certification after completing a 172 hour basic level firefighting course at Chester County's Department of Emergency Services Training Center. This course was very intensive to balance given that Sean is the Property Manager at Sadsbury Self Storage, not to mention all the time away from his family, wife Michele and daughters Gia and Ella. Firefighter Barron is a unique case in which he joined the Thorndale Fire Company as a Fire Police Officer and quickly obtained Fire Police certification. He then moved over to be a Firefighter and will continue service in a dual capacity Firefighter/Fire Police Officer. Congratulations Firefighter Barron on your achievement! |
