From Thursday May 31 through Sunday June 3, 2012, the Brandywine Health Foundation held its 40th annual Strawberry Festival. The weather for the four-day event was very touch and go. Mother Nature provided a beautiful Thursday evening, a rained-soaked Friday, a fantastic Saturday for the postponed fireworks, and a cloudy but dry Sunday.
The temperature remained mild and the crowds of festival patrons were enthusiastic.
The Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company handled the parking for the Strawberry Festival by providing the manpower, equipment, and signage to accomplish this large task. Our fire police provided traffic control at the main entrance. While some members collected the parking donations, our fire fighters were in the field directing traffic to the appropriate parking locations.
We are very grateful to the local businesses who donated food and beverages for our fire company volunteers. Squad 38 continually circled the parking lots handing out water, soda, and food to our volunteers throughout the 4 day event.
Thorndale Fire Company wishes to sincerely thank all the area vendors who provided food and beverage for us.
We also wish to thank all the patrons of the Strawberry Festival who allowed us to park them. We'll hopefully see you there again next year! |
