On Saturday December 4, 2010, the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company participated in the annual Coatesville Christmas Parade. In addition to Thorndale and other area fire companies, the parade included many other organizations and lasted approximately 3 hours. The parade began in the west end of Coatesville and proceeded east on Lincoln Highway to 11th Ave. This year, the parade was preceded by a 5K run, that had many participants. Thorndale Fire Police, along with Fire Police from throughout the county, were positioned at each intersection along the parade route for traffic and crowd control. Fire Police Captain Patrick Carmody served as Fire Police Command for the parade. Although the temperature was only in the 30's, the parade was very well attended by members of the community. The parade concluded with Santa sitting atop a Coatesville fire engine at the end of the parade. |
