Over the last month, Wednesday evening drill nights have focused on different aspects of vehicle rescue utilizing the different equipment carried on Rescue 38. On Wednesday October 2nd, the crews were given a scenario as units started to arrive at the training facility that would test all the skills they practiced over the last few weeks.

On arrival, Rescue 38 crew began to immediately stabilize the vehicles and work on extrication. Rescue crews worked with EMS to successfully extricate the trapped victims. A debrief was conducted at the conclusion of the scenario to talk about how to operation went and discuss any lessons learned.

At the end of the debrief, crews went back to work discussing and operationalizing other rescue tactics for certain scenarios that we could encounter on a real-life incident. Thank you to Miller's Automotive for allowing us to use the facility over the last month to conduct training. Thank you to Minquas Fire Company Ambulance Division for providing a crew to help with this drill and being able to train together.
