Rescue 38 Brings Home the Gold from Twin Valley's Parade and Housing

May 13, 2012

On Saturday May 12, 2012, Rescue 38 with a crew of 3 attended the Twin Valley Fire Department's Parade and Housing along with approximately 200 other pieces of fire apparatus. The day started early with judging and parade staging in the parking lot of the former MOM Mall in Morgantown prior to the start of the convoy down Route 23 to Station 69.

Once all the apparatus arrived at Station 69 we were bombarded with good food, live music, and Twin Valley merchandise for sale. The time soon came for announcing the winners of each class. Rescue 38 had been entered into the "Most Functional and Equipped Rescue Engine" class, along with Rescue 23 (Avondale) and Engine 5-2 (East Whiteland), both of which are newer apparatus. Being that our Rescue is now ten years old there was a lot of doubt that Rescue 38 would be winning anything at this parade. John Stout of Belfor was the presenter and sponsor for this award. After a few of his shenanigans, he announced "Thorndale" as the winner of the "Most Function and Equipped Rescue Engine" class. It made all the long nights and hard work worth it once we had the trophy in hand.

Traffic 38 along with four Fire Police Officers also made the trip to Twin Valley for the traffic control that was needed to help make the parade run as smooth as it did. On behalf of the Thorndale Fire Company we would like to thank and congratulate the Twin Valley Fire Department for a enjoyable day and a job well done.

Units: Rescue 38, Traffic 38
