Annual Commercial Inspection Prevents Possible Fire

Assistant Chief Raymond Stackhouse, February 13

While performing an annual commercial fire inspection Caln Township Fire Marshal’s noticed an odor and faint smoke coming from an extension cord being used to power an ice machine. Further investigation found that both the extension cord and ice machine cord were melted and burning. Around 10:45 hours Station 38, Engine 76-2 and MICU 146-2 were dispatched to the Eastbound route 30 bypass for an auto accident reported as serious involving a tractor trailer. At 12:47 hours, Station 38 was dispatched to the 3200 block of Walnut St for a reported appliance fire. Assistant 38 arrived & found a pellet stove malfunctioning with a smoke condition. At 13:25 hours, the company was dispatched to the 800 block of Williamsburg Bvld, to assist the Lionville Fire company with a possible house fire. Brush Fire in Bailey Station

Thorndale Fire Company, October 18

Station 38 was alerted to the rear of a home in the 3200 block of Tyning Lane for a Brush fire. Chief 38 went enroute and was advised of a lawnmower on fire that sparked brush.
